The 8 times table is the 2 times table done three times over. Every answer is even, every answer is a doubling of a 4 times table answer, and the whole thing can be rebuilt from scratch if you ever forget it.

Tricks for the 8 times table
Ten lots minus two lots
8 × 9 = (10 × 9) − (2 × 9) = 90 − 18 = 72. Handy when the number you are multiplying by is large.
The last digits repeat
8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80 — the final digits run 8, 6, 4, 2, 0 and then start again. If your answer does not end in one of those, it is wrong.
8 times table word problems

What is the trick for the 8 times table?
Double three times. For 8 × 6: 6 → 12 → 24 → 48. Because 8 is 2 × 2 × 2, tripling the doubling always gets you there.

8 × 7 = 56. Remember it as the digits 5, 6, 7, 8 in order: 56 = 7 × 8.
