10 × 6 = 60, 10 × 12 = 120. It works for every whole number, however big. Be careful with decimals though — 10 × 0.5 is 5, not 0.50.
The 10 times table is the one children learn almost by accident, because our whole number system is built on tens. Multiply any whole number by 10 and it shifts one place to the left, picking up a zero on the end.
Multiplying a whole number by 10 shifts every digit one place left, so a zero appears on the end: 10 × 7 = 70.
