Questions
How do you answer?
Difficulty
Twenty or forty questions drawn from the tables you select, with no clues and no second chances. Get 90% or more and you can print a certificate with your name on it.
Play: Tables Diploma
- Choose the tables you want to be examined on — all twelve for the full diploma.
- Choose twenty or forty questions, and how far the tables should run.
- Answer them all. Score 90% or more and you pass.
- Type your name and print or save your certificate.
Why games beat drilling
A test with a real pass mark gives practice a finish line. Children work differently when there is a certificate at the end of it.
Common questions
What score do you need to pass the tables diploma?
You need 90% — that is 18 out of 20, or 36 out of 40, depending on the length you pick. Anything less and you can retake it straight away; the questions are drawn fresh each time.
Can I print the multiplication certificate?
Yes. After passing, type a name and use the print button. It is laid out for a single sheet of A4 or US Letter and prints cleanly in black and white.
Can I test just one times table?
Yes. Select a single table and the test only uses that one, which makes it a good way to sign off each table before moving on to the next.
Is this the same as the UK multiplication tables check?
It is modelled on the same idea — timed questions from the 1–12 tables — but it is not the official Year 4 check. It is a good way to practise for it.
