Difficulty
One minute on the clock and as many multiplication questions as you can answer. Short enough to fit into the start of a lesson, competitive enough that children ask for another go.

Why games beat drilling
A fixed minute makes progress visible. Score 18 today and 24 next week and there is no arguing with the improvement.
Common questions
What is a good score in a one minute times tables test?
For the full 1–12 tables, 20 to 25 correct in a minute is a strong result for a primary-age child, and around 30 is exceptional. On a single table most children reach 25 to 35.
Can I use the 1 minute test in class?
Yes. It is designed for it — one minute, no sign-in, and it works on a whiteboard. Many teachers run it at the start of every lesson and have children record their own score.
Does a wrong answer lose me points?
No. Wrong answers are not deducted, they simply cost you the seconds you spent. Your score is the number of correct answers in the minute.
